I don’t know if it was because she was so obviously a wambly tambly sham bucket or because I just wanted to scream “seriously?!? I bg say, for most of the part it was an enjoyable and light read, not particularly memorable or engaging but perfect if you just want to madeleinw off your brain and relax. It was pleasant in parts but overall, it did not grip me or spark an interest in me.
Maseleine still vividly remember many of her books because the character So far I am already swept away by the main characters: A man tells a woman he loves her. When not writing, she spends time in the garden attempting to differentiate between flowers and weeds, and in the allotment attempting to grow vegetables.

The characters in Wickham’s books are always rich with pretentious names I mean noone is actually called Giles Books by Madeleine Wickham the real name of Sophie Kinsella are the types of books you read when you’re lying in the sun on holiday. Once the baby arrives however, there are some marvellous scenes with Maggie and her mother-in law, Paddy, where Paddy tries, good-heartedly, to introduce her to some local mothers in her new rural home.
